My four personal recommendations for the Master Investor Show

There will be a lot happening at the Master Investor Show on 25 March, and everyone has their own reasons for attending. Still, I’d like to share some personal recommendations.

Here are four event features that I urge you to consider in your plans.

1: Learn from Justin Urquhart Stewart about living well in retirement

7IM’s Justin Urquhart Stewart speaking at Master Investor Show 2016

They say the early bird catches the worm. Indeed, some of our earliest presentations will also be among the most worthwhile.

At 10.10am, we will have Justin Urquhart Stewart on the Main Stage. Justin is not only one of the most engaging public speakers I have ever come across, he also has a lot of valuable – and thought-provoking – insights into saving up for your retirement.Without a clear plan to save up for old age, many of us won’t ever even get there and will have to work till they drop. Do you want to be one of them? Exactly!

Justin’s insights will be both useful and entertaining. Be there when the action kicks off on the Main Stage.

2: Learn about trading shares from “Evil Knievil”

Evil 6

For the last few years, Simon Cawkwell, aka Evil Knievil, has been one of our most popular blog contributors. If you are interested in investing into shares, you simply must meet him.

According to the Daily Mail, Simon is “one of London’s best known and experienced traders”. He famously made £500,000 from shorting shares of Northern Rock before it collapsed. Prior to that, he made his name forecasting the collapse of Robert Maxwell’s empire. With his wealth amassed through successful investing, Evil focuses full-time on trading, from his base in London.

Simon will take to the stage once again at Master Investor Show 2017 with his live version of the ever-popular “Evil Diaries”. His session will be co-hosted by London South East, the leading financial investor portal (www.lse.co.uk).

I’ll be upfront with you. Simon’s talks aren’t for the faint hearted or those with a tender conscience. He doesn’t mince words and says it as he sees it. Attend at your own risk!

3: Stay late for a second serving of Jim Mellon!

One of the UK's most successful private investors,, Jim Mellon

It doesn’t need repeating, but just in case… Jim Mellon is our most popular speaker, and his Main Stage presentation from 11.45am – 12.30pm will be one of the highlights of the day.

This year, Jim will be on stage not once, but twice. At 4.20pm, we have Gonçalo de Vasconcelos speaking on the Main Stage. The co-founder of SyndicateRoom, the online investing platform, will give you his insights into achieving superior returns by investing into early-stage ventures. Jim will join Gonçalo on stage and they will deliver a panel discussion. Watch this space! More news soon.

4: Get the most out of the day using our mobile app  Master Investor Show app

It’s much easier to keep track of 100 exhibitors and 50 speakers if you carry all schedules and profiles in your pocket. All event data is now available on our Master Investor event app.

At the touch of a button, you can plan your day in advance by setting reminders for the things you want to see, read up about investible companies, network with investors, and access schedules and company bios.
