The price of shares in CFD specialist Plus500 (LON:PLUS) rose by 2.46% to 1,334p (as of 11:55 GMT) after the company announced that the trading momentum seen in November has continued through to the close of the year. As a result of this, the board believes that results for the 12 months ended 31st December will be ahead of market expectations.

CEO Asaf Elimelech commented: “2018 was a landmark year for the Group, during which Plus500 was admitted to the Main Market and joined the FTSE250 Index. We are delighted, in such a momentous year, to have delivered both strong operational performance and record financial results. Our focus remains on gaining market share in our current markets and growing rapidly in new jurisdictions by acquiring, engaging and retaining high value customers. We very much look forward to updating shareholders with our Full Year 2018 results on 12 February 2019“.
