The FTSE 100’s biggest riser on Tuesday was again Persimmon (LON:PSN), whose shares rose by 8% to close at 2,822p after posting half-year results and announcing a dividend payment. Other companies linked to construction performed well with Barratt Developments (LON:BDEV) and Ferguson (LON:FERG) in second and third place with gains of 2.49% and 2.21% respectively.
Pearson (LON:PSON) was bottom of the table with a 2.93% drop.
