It staggers me that the likes of BALPA have to point out that a drone could bring down a plane so causing extensive loss of life and that the use of drones must therefore be legally circumscribed. After all, say a fifteen year old psychopath were free to buy a machine gun from Boots there would be a remarkable outcry. (Let’s not get going on lasers, whose use does not merely risk causing death but, instead, is directed at causing death. However, the general point is that drones and lasers are directed by humans whereas flocks of geese are directed by geese whose willingness to study legislation is very much in question.)

Donald Trump is 10/3.5 ON to be the Republican nominee. This is a terrific bet save that he could be assassinated. I bet you hadn’t reserved that possibility.

The chairman’s Manx Financial (MFX) reported this morning and jolly good results they are. There is no dividend but, as soon as this is in place (0.5p?), the share price is surely onwards and upwards, now 12.5p offer – in line with tnav.

Petroceltic (PCI)‘s board have produced an extraordinary set of comments to PCI shareholders. This morning’s statement is explicit that the financial position is very far indeed from being resolved. There is no alternative to accepting the Worldview offer of 3p but, instead of stressing to shareholders that this is the only possible offer (where, it should be pointed out a 90% vote of those voting is required), it is remarked that PCI could collapse before the completion of the offer. And yet there is no advice to shareholders to accept. Perhaps I am missing something but it seems to me to be clear that shreholders get 3p or nothing and, quite possibly, the latter. Anyway, this leaves the way clear to short this stock. Not long to go now.
