Tom Hayes’s retrial at the Court of Appeal starts on Thursday 14th March and is scheduled to finish on 18th March. The essence of his appeal is that whatever he did was not a crime. Which means that he must be innocent.

In the Philippines, Metals Exploration (MTL) seems to be gushing cash. The trouble is that one does not know for how long it will gush. The Candy brothers control it and, unusually, it offers quarterly updates. MTL is probably still a buy at 3p or better.

Last night, Tesla (TSLA) reported sharply declining sales and reminded followers that its glory days are well and truly over. They closed at $195. This stock has surprised the market on countless occasions but, surely, this time its capacity to do so has disappeared.
