FTSE Morning Update
Fresnillo (LON:FRES) and Kingfisher (LON:KGF) were yesterday’s big winners on the FTSE 100. Kingfisher’s share price was up by 14.62% at the close of trading as investors were encouraged by strong trading in the last few months, while Fresnillo ended the day with its shares 9.59% higher after publishing its Q2 production data.
At the other end of the table, it was a rough day at Melrose Industries (LON:MRO) where shares dropped by 14.24% following the news that H1 revenues sank by 27% and further cost reduction measures would be implemented.
Today on the FTSE 100, we have interim results from Unilever and a trading statement from Sage Group to look out for as well as US employment figures and the CBI’s Industrial Trends survey on the macroeconomic side.
