On Thursday next Darktrace (DARK) will announce its results and how it is going. The statement will presumably be fairly bullish and, thus, some punters may be minded to have a few at 515p. I doubt the wisdom of that since I suspect that there will ultimately be no bid from Bravo.

An earnest and helpful-leaning churchgoer went into his office on a Monday morning with a black eye. His colleague asked what had caused this. He had leaned forward and eased the skirt clear and she had turned round and give him a hearty punch. “That’ll learn you,” said his colleague.

Anyway the following Monday he arrived for work with the other eye severely bruised. “What happened this time?” asked his colleague. “Well, as it turned out the same lady as eight days ago sat in front of me and, this time, when she stood up her skirt was not tucked in and, seeing as how I knew she preferred to have it tucked in, I leant forward and arranged exactly that.”
