Thursday’s biggest risers on the FTSE 100 were Unilever (LON:ULVR) and Sage Group (LON:SGE). Unilever’s share price closed up by 7.88% after it continued to clean up in the consumer marketplace, beating expectations despite a drop in the personal hygiene products division.
SSE (LON:SSE) and Informa (LON:INF) saw respective declines of 6.30% and 5.27%. Informa’s price drop came after events revenues at Relx, the world’s second largest events organiser behind Informa, slumped by 71% during the first half of 2020.
Friday will give us interim results from Centrica (LON:CNA) to consider and we will also have the latest round of UK retail data to judge whether there are any signs of a high street recovery.
