Steady, old boy
I listened to Phil Bentley of Mitie (LON:MTO) commenting on MTO’s position in the light of this morning’s revelations. However, he did not get to grips with the real write downs which should immediately follow the investigating accountants’ review – apparently this is to be completed by the end of the week and can therefore only cover accounting principles as applied and is equally therefore not an audit. (Can one qualify ‘therefore’?)
I have not closed my short since I smell a serious decline to come.

My chum, Dr Levente Mady of Vancouver, who is a funny guy and, unlike, the vast majority of North American stockbrokers, possesses a brain, got me to go long USD versus CAD. (Note: I awarded his doctorate since no one else had.) I also suspect he is honest. Talk about a double first.

I keep on buying Caribbean Investment Holdings (LON:CIHL) and the stock keeps on coming out. Still, although I have got enough, I would not for one moment put off a punter who just loves the value. i.e. £65m for £19m at 19p.

I have also bought Manx Financial (LON:MFX) which is one of the chairman’s chairmanships. He owns perhaps 18% whilst Arron Banks owns 28%. This could be pretty cheap at 9p.

Theresa May is cutting the mustard. Yesterday a chum told me that she comes across as Churchillian. Steady, old boy.
