Risers: 

Smith & Nephew +1.89%

Shares in Smith & Nephew are up during early morning trading today after the company announced a Q4 pretax profit of $232m, up from $213m in the same period last year. Revenue increased to $1.2bn, up from $1.1m last year. 

Imagination Technologies +14.34%

Imagination Technologies has revealed that its multi-year licensing agreement with Apple has been extended. Shares in the technology group jumped over 14% after the announcement. 

Beazley PLC +4.74%

Beazley PLC has today announced a 25% jump in full year pretax profits to $313.3m for the year ended 31 Dec. Revenue for the insurance specialist group also increased, reported at $1.56bn compared to $159bn a year earlier. 

Stellar Resources +10.00%

Stellar Resources is set to buy a 7.5% equity stake in Horse Hill Development.

 

Fallers: 

AstraZeneca -2.61%

AstraZeneca has today reported they have swung to a Q4 loss of $524m which has been blamed on slow sales of its diabetes drug, Bydureon. Q4 sales were below market expectations, reported at $6.84bn after fierce competition. 

President Energy -19.46%

Shares have dropped over 19% in President Energy after the oil and gas company reported the placing of new ordinary shares in order to raise around £57m. The capital raised is to be used on a drilling project throughout 2014. 

Enterprise Inns -5.58%

Enterprise Inns is currently the bigger faller in the FTSE 250 this morning despite the company revealing they are trading in line with company expectations.
