Carnival lifted after operations update

Shares in FTSE 100 cruise operator Carnival (LON:CCL) have risen by 5.14% to 1,014p (as of 12:50 BST) despite announcing that P&O Cruises would be extending its voluntary pause in operations until the end of August. The company said that starting back up would be dependent on a variety of factors including relevant government guidance and the implementation of new operational procedures.

P&O Cruises President Sture Myrmell commented: “In the confident knowledge that cruising will be back, this is an opportunity to update our guests on the latest itinerary plans and to thank them for their understanding and support during this period of uncertainty.

We look forward to welcoming them back onboard our ships when it is safe to do so“.
